Your Mindset is The Secret to the Law of Attraction and Wellness

The law of attraction (LOA) states that your attitude toward life has a lot to do with what you get out of life. It is not just because we are born rich or poor or in a certain country, or with a certain education or family background. Our mindset is the key factor for wellness. As Napoleon Hill says: “The most powerful instrument we have… is the power of our mind.”

People want happiness, prosperity and good health, mentally, emotionally physically, financially and spiritually.

If you have a healthy, positive mindset and believe in yourself, and if you take action (not just think), then you are creating the necessary energy, intentions, vibrations and expectations to draw to you what you want, including wellness. This is the law of attraction (LOA).

You have a healthy mindset when you engage in thoughts, attitudes, habits, choices, and behaviors that enhance your overall well-being. Attitude is still everything! Being optimistic, hopeful and having a positive attitude is scientifically proven to influence our body, life and general well-being.

The LOA says that people experience the effects of their predominant thoughts, feelings, words, and actions; thus, people can greatly influence their lives through thought. One’s thoughts (conscious and unconscious), emotions, beliefs and actions are said to attract corresponding positive and negative experiences. The law of attraction states, “your thoughts determine your destiny.” Proponents of the idea claim that a person can use the law of attraction to change their lives by any means, this is not really a new idea. The idea that thoughts introduced into reality can attract like energy dates back thousands of years. Buddha states, “What you have become is the result of what you have thought.” In the West, the idea of “positive thinking” became popular during the 19th century. The Law of Attraction is described in the 1906 book Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World by William Walker Atkinson. Numerous modern books address the topic using terms like “positive thinking” and “secrets of success.”

More recently, in 2006 the film, The Secret focused on the “Law of Attraction”, and was later developed into a book by the same name. The movie and book have been selling at a tremendous pace and have gained widespread attention from sources such as Saturday Night Live and Oprah in the USA.

The Secret was created by Australian Rhonda Byrne, who says that if you follow its philosophy, you can create the life you want, whether that means getting out of debt, finding a more fulfilling job or falling in love.

Rhonda says she stumbled on The Secret in 2004. Rhonda read hundreds of books, listened to hundreds of hours of audio tapes and scoured the Internet for more information, tracing the idea of The Secret through history — from 3500 B.C. to the present day.

“Since I discovered The Secret… I am living my life for the first time,” she says. Rhonda sees The Secret as the principle that “like attracts like.” She calls it “the most powerful law in the universe,” and says it is working all the time. “We attract into our lives the things we want, and that is based on what we’re thinking and feeling.” We create our own circumstances by the choices we make. And these choices are fuelled by our thoughts — which means our thoughts are the most powerful things we have.

Thus, everything that happens to you — good or bad — you attract to yourself. Lisa Nichols, an expert who is in the movie, describes it this way: “If you were at a restaurant and you ordered something, you fully expect it to come served that way. That’s how the universe is. You’re putting out orders — consciously and unconsciously.”

Whether we recognize it or not, we choose the type of thinking and approach we have to the world at every moment. We create our own beliefs, visions and reality.

If we blame others, or otherwise accept failure, then we are inviting or allowing failure – or ‘unwellness’ – into our lives. Ownership, accountability and the ability to choose our thoughts is powerful!

But we can all follow the principles of The Secret and remind ourselves that life is bounteous and full of promise. We can make a daily conscious choice to select those thoughts and intentions that support us. Our past thoughts created today….today’s thoughts create our future….what are you creating today for your future?

  2. I had to read your post twice to get the full impact of it. I appreciate reading what you have to say. It’s unfortunate that more people do not comprehend the benefits of coaching. Keep up the good work.

  3. when we look at our lives we can all see how the law of attraction plays a central role in it. I believe that the law of attraction exists, not because of movies or scientific evidence, but because I see who it works in my own life. Thanks for the article

  4. I read somewhere once where someone suggested that it may not be the power of love that makes things go round, but the power of choice. I'm not ready to give up on the power of love as the mover and shaker though, but I do agree that our power to choose and how we use it is the key to aligning with the law of attraction to our benefit.

Thanks for a great article, looking forward to more!
